An Oxford restaurant, which is featured in the Michelin Guide, will close its doors next spring.

Oli’s Thai on Magdalen Road will serve its last customers in February before closing in March.

The restaurant will undergo renovation work and reopen as Elle’s Deli, with the new restaurant selling “tasty things, including some Thai dishes”.

The owners have plans to run monthly ‘Oli’s food nights’ at Elle’s Deli when it opens.

Posting on Instagram, the restaurant owners said: “After nearly 10yrs of running Oli’s Thai we have decided to close the restaurant. Feb will be our last month. We will be closed in March for renovations, hopefully opening Elle’s Deli in April or May.

“The deli will sell all manner of tasty things, including some Thai dishes. We also have plans to run monthly Oli’s food nights. Details on these events will be posted nearer the time.

“Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us over the years. It has been a pleasure running Oli’s. We are really excited about the future and look forward to welcoming you to Elle’s Deli.”

Oli’s Thai was opened in August 2013 by Ladd and Ru Thurston. The small restaurant holds only five tables and offers a different menu each week, based on seasonal changes.

The restaurant is featured on the Michelin website and has had a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the last four years.

A Bib Gourmand recognises establishments that serve good food at moderate prices and is awarded to those who offer ‘good quality’ and ‘good value cooking’.

The Oxford Mail has approached Oli's Thai for comment.
