POLICE are hunting for an arsonist after a huge blaze at a solicitors yesterday morning.   

At around 4am in the morning on December 6, fire and police were called to reports of a fire at Family First Solicitors on Woodstock Road.

Police have said the building was set on fire with an intent to endanger life.

The fire service has said the investigation is being treated as a deliberate act.

People who were living in the same building managed to escape without injury, however, significant damage was caused to the property.  

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Tom Mansfield of Oxford CID, said: “This was a significant incident, which thankfully has not resulted in anybody being injured.

“However, there were people inside a property at the location, and this could have had a far worse outcome had it not been for their swift actions to get out of the building.

“At this early stage of the investigation, I believe that a single person was responsible for this blaze, and I am appealing to anybody who witnessed any suspicious activity in the early hours of yesterday morning in the vicinity of Woodstock Road to please get in touch with police.

“I would be particularly keen to hear from anybody who has CCTV or dash-cam footage from near the location to please check this and contact us if it has captured anything that can assist the investigation.
