COVID secure teams will restart their patrols in the city centre, following confirmation that the Omicron variant has been found in the county.

Oxford City Council said it has restarted its Covid Secure Team patrols - during the height of the pandemic these teams were used to carry out spot checks on businesses to make sure businesses were complying with government guidance.

This week, following the outbreak of the Omicron variant, the Government made it compulsory to wear masks on public transport and in shops.

It is now suspected tehre are two further cases in the city - linked to a university college.
