A man accused of smuggling drugs into an Oxfordshire prison failed to turn up to his plea hearing.
Simon Maclellan, 39, is said to have brought a mobile phone, cannabis and a synthetic cannabis drug called MDMB-4en-PINACA1 into HMP Bullingdon, near Bicester, on November 16 last year.
Maclellan, of Redlands Lane, Fareham, was due before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday afternoon to enter his pleas to two charges of conveying prohibited items into prison.
When he failed to turn up for the hearing, Judge Michael Gledhill QC issued a warrant for the alleged smuggler’s arrest.
Jonathan Stone appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service. The absent defendant was not represented.
