Oxford Christmas Market was cancelled last year because of the coronavirus but it is due to return to Broad Street on December 9, running for 11 days. Here we look back at photos showing the busy market over the years.
Last year the popular market was due to take place from December 3 to December 20 but instead traders were forced to opt for an online festive market.

Organiser Nicole Rahimi said on the market's Facebook page last year: "I am beyond sad to let you know that I have to cancel the Oxford Christmas Market 2020.
"I believed I could provide a Covid-19 secure market and some form of normality in the lead up to Christmas, but the current Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions just make it impossible to organise a viable market."
Now organisers are planning for the market's return and some decorations have already gone up in Broad Street, ready for the market's arrival.

The event's Facebook page says: "It's beginning to look a lot like the Oxford Christmas Market will come alive again on December 9. The planning is going full speed ahead. The excitement is mounting."
