Oxfordshire county councillor Liam Walker, who represents the Hanborough and Minster Lovell division, is on the search for the best boozer, in order to encourage people to support the hospitality industry.

Mr Walker said: “The hospitality sector has been hit hard by the pressures of Covid-19 over the past 18 months, so I’m pleased to be launching my pub of the year competition, to celebrate the best of local pubs within the Hanborough and Minster Lovell division.
“In just over a week, there has already been over 100 votes cast by local residents or by those who have used one of the 14 great pubs I’m lucky to have across my eight parishes.
“I think this is a great opportunity to give our pubs the recognition they deserve after such a difficult period.”
Voting for Mr Walker’s pub of the year competition is due to close at midnight on November 30, with the councillor pledging to visit all 14 pubs over the next few weeks to help promote their business.
