A MAMMOTH tree branch caused queues on Botley Road after falling earlier this morning.
The branch fell from a tree outside the Beaumont Veterinary Group.
Thames Valley Police stopped traffic travelling in both directions, due to the sheer size of the branch in the middle of the road.
An officer at the scene told the Oxford Mail that the force was called to the incident at about 10.30am.
The officer added that Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service had been called to remove the giant branch, while police had been to several other incidents involving fallen trees in the morning.

Traffic entering the city was worse hit, with queues at times stretched back to West Way.
Meanwhile, many of the barriers where roadworks are taking place near the McDonald’s have been blown over.
West Oxfordshire District Council reported a number of trees had fallen in the district.
