Firefighters are tackling a barn fire near Eynsham.
Police said Cuckoo Lane, between Eynsham and Freeland, is currently closed.
Those living 'towards' Long Hanborough and Bladon have been told to keep their windows and doors closed 'due to the smoke'.
Flames and a column of smoke can be seen over a barn on a hill side above Cuckoo Lane.
One walker who photographed the burning barn at around 3.30pm this afternoon told the Oxford Mail he'd seen police officers apparently arresting a man by the A40 and putting him into the back of a police van. He also saw the police helicopter overhead.
On Facebook, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Oxfordshire are currently dealing with a significant fire near Eynsham.
"Please be aware there is a large amount of smoke in the area, we advise that you keep windows closed if you live in the vicinity."

Witney officers are currently on scene with the Fire Service dealing with a barn fire. Cuckoo Lane from Eynsham and Freeland is currently closed. We would advise residents towards Long Hanbrough and Bladon to close windows and doors due to the smoke #ICR5 #P4327
