An Oxford environmental campaign group will stage an Alice in Wonderland themed protest on Saturday to urge the city council for urgent climate action.
Oxford4Nature, a campaigning coalition for the city, will stage the Alice in Wonderland themed protest outside the Town Hall.
The group will march to protect green spaces in Oxford and lobby the city council for urgent climate action.
The group will meet in Broad Street from 12pm, before making a procession through the city centre.
Characters present will include Alice herself, representing the generations of children whose future is endangered by the lack of climate action.
The Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter will also be in attendance at the protest.
Lucy Grabe-Watson, a representative of the campaign group, said: “Oxford4Nature intends to call further attention to the insufficiency of local climate policy and to gain pledges for action to secure Oxford’s environment from development pressures from local councillors.”
