Two teachers at Wantage CE Primary School have been recognised for giving their time and support to two charities close to their hearts.
Philly Sishton, raised more than £3,500 for the Children with Cancer Charity when she ran the 41st London Marathon on October 3.
She spent the last three years training in order to run the race.
The inspiration for this feat came from her sister, who, at the age of 11, contracted a rare form of cancer but who has since gone on to make a complete recovery and is now studying to become a vet.

Ms Sishton said: “I was determined to do it for this brilliant charity.”
Kiyah Varney, also a Year 1 teacher at the school, had her charity work recognised when she received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for her work with the Ray Collins Foundation. She helped to deliver food parcels during lockdown.
She also helped to support the vaccination programme at Wantage Health Centre.
The Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire presented Ms Varney with her award at a ceremony last month at the Wantage Beacon.
Ms Varney said: “After such a tricky year for everyone, volunteering gave me a purpose and I’m so happy that the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service recognises the amazing work that was done, and is still going on, by Ray and the team to support our local community”.
