Friends and neighbours have been sending in their tributes to Lee Butler, who died in a fatal stabbing.
Mr Butler, 39, was killed on Bayswater Road, Barton, on Friday.
Tributes have poured in for the ‘lovely lad’, who was also carer for his mother, from friends and neighbours sending their condolences to his family.
Flowers have been laid out in the park close to scene to honour Mr Butler with thoughtful notes and tributes.
Family members left notes with the flowers sharing their grief. One note read: "Dearest Lee, may you rest in peace a loving son and brother, a good man, carer for his mother. You will be sadly missed. Love Auntie Linda, Uncle Mich, Lorraine Boo and girls."
One woman who was paying her respects to Mr Butler by the flowers in the park, said she has known him for 35 years and could not believe he had gone. She reflected on what a nice person he was.
Honouring Mr Butler in the Oxford Mail's online book of condolences, friend Sarah Ann Rees shared her grief at the news describing him as a 'lovely lad'.

The friends and neighbour of Mr Butler said: “I lived on the other side of Bayswater Road right opposite Lee and went to school with him.
“From about 1987 to 2000 I lived there, and I grew up with him. Lee was a lovely lad, just a great genuine lad, and didn't deserve this.
“I send my condolences to his family. One thing I will say is that his family would be so proud of him.”
Carol Harvey, was a neighbour and friend of Mr Butler, she said: “He was a really nice boy. It is really sad what has happened to him, it is terrible.”
Tricia Harris from the Barton area said her children went to school with Mr Butler. She left a tribute and said: “I’ve watched you grow over the years, will miss our daily hello how are you, sleep tight Lee.”

Sue Bartlett from Barton left a tribute and said: “I have known Lee since he was a little lad who went to school with my son. He was always respectful whenever l bumped into him, and we would have a chat.
“He was a great guy who didn’t deserve to die this way. Rest in peace Lee. Condolences to his mum, brother, and sister.”
Simon Conway from Oxford said: “God bless you, what a waste of a young life, God bless your family, I hope you went to a better place.”
