Netflix's Behind Her Eyes actor Tom Bateman has joined the star studded line up of Sky's upcoming original series 'Funny Girl'.
The Oxford-born actor is the newest actor to be joining the adaptation of Nick Hornby's best selling novel of the same name.
Bateman, 32, will be joining fellow English actors Gemma Arterton and My Best Friend's wedding actor Rupert Everett.
The Murder on the Orient Express actor is set to play 'the dangerously charming' Clive in the highly anticipated series.
Shameless actor David Threlfall will also be completing the line up of a show set during 'the cultural explosion' of the 1960s.
The annoucement comes after Sky dropped the first look of the new drama.
Arteton, who is also one of the series' producers will play the role of the iconic Barbara Parker, has already caused a stir as the first photos of her new look were unveiled.
The St. Trinians actor has swapped out her classic brunette look to play the blonde bombshell.
The show will follow Barbara's journey from being crowned Miss Liverpool to comedy superstar.
We'll get to watch all the twists and turns as this Northern girl moves to London and tries to navigate the male dominated world of the 1960s sitcom.
The new series, written by multi-award winning Morwenna Banks and directed by BAFTA nominee Oliver Parker, promises to be the next heart warming and feminist comedy we have been looking for.
When will Sky's Funny Girl be released?
Production has already begun in Liverpool with the series set to drop next year.
The comedy drama will be available on Sky Max and streaming service NOW in 2022.
