FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a burning fallen tree in the grounds of Blenheim Palace.
Fire crews from Kidlington Fire Station and Burford Fire Station tackled the blaze at the Woodstock stately home on Monday. It is believed it had been started deliberately and left unattended.
Smoke could be seen from a distance as firefighters used chainsaws to cut away at the tree.
The incident commander advised people to always seek the permission of land owners before starting fires and insisted fires should never be left unattended.
Firefighters thanked staff at Blenheim Palace for their assistance during the incident.
