Organisers expressed their sadness after a participant in last weekend's Blenheim Palace Triathlon died.
The Blenheim Palace Triathlon tweeted: "We are deeply saddened by the death of a participant in The Blenheim Palace Triathlon, and we extend our condolences to all family members, friends and anyone else affected by this tragedy.
"The family of the participant have been informed and we ask that people respect the family’s privacy at this time."
The event is widely regarded as world-class and welcomes over 7,000 participants of all ages and abilities to swim, bike and run each year.
The demanding individual sprint event involves a 750m swim, 19.8km bike ride and 5.4km run.
