Staff from the opticians Specsavers will be putting their best feet forward and walking the length of Britain.
Sixteen members of staff from Specsavers in Abingdon are taking on the challenge to raise funds for mental health charity, MIND.
MIND provides advice and support to help anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
The optical team will be travelling the equivalent walking route from Land’s End, Cornwall to John O’Groats, Scotland, the team are hoping to collectively cover 918 miles within 30 days.
Specsavers Abingdon store director, Andrew Threlfall said: "After the challenges of the last 18 months or so we were keen to get back to giving back and supporting the community."
He added: "The pandemic has also reminded us of the importance of looking after our mental health, so we wanted to support our local MIND with their valuable work.
"It is a daunting distance, but we are all committed and looking forward to enjoying the walking that’s ahead of us. We are monitoring our progress on a team app so I’m sure there will be some healthy competitive rivalry as the month progresses."
