The revamp of an Oxford city centre building, road closures for water works and road improvements, and two NHS annual meetings are among some of the latest public notices issued by local authorities across the county.

Public notices are issued by local councils on a regular basis, covering things such as roadworks and planning applications.

Road closure

Traffic will not be able to travel through Hensington Road and Union Street in Woodstock due to carriageway improvement works which are expected to be completed next Friday.

The traffic order will be in place between 7.30am and 5pm weekdays in the whole of Union Street and part of Hensington Road between its junction with Oxford Road and the public car park.

Signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force and exemptions are included for emergency services, the works and for access to property.

The alternative route for traffic is via Oxford Road, Princes Ride, Flemmings Road, Shipton Road, Hensington Road, Green Lane, Brook Hill, Upper Brook Hill, Oxford Road and vice versa.

The order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

Virtual NHS Trust meetings

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust will hold two annual meetings next month.

On September 22, the Trust will hold its Annual Members' Meeting and Annual General Meeting online from 6pm to 8pm.

A link to this virtual event as well as the 2020-21 annual report and accounts will be published on oxfordhealth.nhs.uk/agm.

Building revamp

Plans have been submitted to remodel an Oxford city centre building.

Proposals are in place to enlarge the ground floor retail unit in North Bailey House - which used to be home to Argos - in New Inn Hall Street.

Plans also include renovating the existing facade, including building a fourth floor extension and new shopfront.

The applicant also wants to change the use from shop to a mixed-use shop and restaurant and create a new building entrance on Shoe Lane.

Road closure

Traffic will not be able to travel through Binsey Lane in Oxford next month due to water mains work.

The traffic order will be in place on Monday and is expected to take eight days to complete.

The work is taking place because a mains water trunk needs to be replaced and so vehicles will not be able to travel through the section of Binsey Lane near The Lodge.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force and exemptions are included for emergency services, the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

There is no alternative route for this cul-de-sac and the order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

Restaurant's licence application

A Turkish restaurant in Oxford wants to provide entertainment, sell alcohol and serve food later in the night.

Nef Istanbul in Cowley Road has submitted a new premises licence application to Oxford City Council.

The application is for a new licence for the provision of regulated entertainment, late night refreshment and the sale of alcohol.

If you would like to make representations concerning this application, you must do so in writing to: The Licensing Authority, Oxford City Council, St Aldate's Chambers, 109 St Aldate's, Oxford, OX1 1DS no later than September 8.
