Music chain HMV closed its branch in Cornmarket in 2014 but has now announced it is to return with a new store in the same street next month.
It is expected to open in the former Gap store which closed in July.
Over the years many bands including Foals and Brother Beyond caused a stir with performances inside the store.
Jennifer Lafton, 18, was a big fan of Brother Beyond and she waited four hours to meet lead singer Nathan Moore back in 1986.

But the fun didn't last forever and the chain went into administration in 2013.
In June 2014 music fans queued up to buy the last discounted CDs, DVDs and video games before the HMV branch closed.
But the HMV chain survived in a different guise following a buyout and a limited number of stores remain up and down the country.
