AN Oxfordshire airfield is holding a special private event for military families today.
RAF Benson is hosting a Families Day this afternoon to thank its personnel and their families for their outstanding work and support over the past year.

Between 1pm and 5pm, there will be a number of aerial displays which are expected to include aircraft such as Puma, Chinook, Schweizer 300, Chipmunk and Spitfire.
The Chinook Display Team and Wings Parachute Display Team will also be flying.
A Typhoon display is no longer expected to take place.
Although the event is private, the airshow will be seen from villages around the site.
Residents shared spots that make good viewing points such as The Crown Inn in Benson.

Elspeth Helen said: "The Crown Inn at Benson have a patio which is a fantastic viewing enclosure if you fancy popping down for lunch and admire the flights."
From 6pm, the local community may also hear live music from the domestic site. RAF Benson said on Facebook: "Please rest assured that this will cease at a reasonable hour."
