World music superstar Kanda Bongo Man will return to Oxfordshire to launch his new CD.
The launch party will be held at the Thomas Hughes Memorial Hall in Uffington on Friday September 10 for the CD which is a live recording of the musician’s previous visit to Uffington.
Record label No Wahahla Sounds heard the original recording of his band’s 2016 sell-out show and liked it so much they wanted to release it.
Kanda, who is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, has had a long and influential career.
As a young man he moved as a young man to Paris and popularised his version of soukous music.
It took him around the world, including playing in front of huge audiences at Womad and recording another live CD in New York’s Central Park.
