An Abingdon couple who are completing every single event in the 17 days of the Tokyo Olympics have posted an hilarious video of Event 29 Synchronised Swimming.
Stuart Bates and Charlotte Nichols are completing 49 sports and over 96 events in the Spennylympics in memory of Mr Bates’s brother Spencer – known as ‘Spenny’ – who died after suffering from motor neurone disease.
So far their epic fundraiser has included a 240km cycle ride, a 3,000m steeple chase and a 50km walk.
Mr Bates, a window cleaner, and Ms Nichols, a student doctor, have recruited over 50 former and current Olympians to act as ambassadors and mentors for their specific event.

This includes athletes such as Tessa Sanderson CBE, Sally Gunnell OBE, Joe Clarke MBE, Liam Heath MBE, Anna Watkins MBE and Hannah Mills MBE.
They are also being supported by GB weightlifter and special ambassador, Emily Muskett (Godley), who lost her mum, Celia, to the disease just before Christmas.
Recently they have received video support from eventing star Tom McEwan, who won Gold for Team GB and individual silver in equestrian eventing in Tokyo.
The couple, who were joined by ITV’s This Morning for Event 56 the long jump, have so far raised at least £85,000.
