SEVERAL roads across Oxfordshire will be closed in the coming weeks, after notices were issued by local authorities.

Public notices often cover planning notices, licensing applications and planned roadworks.

Banbury Road: Carriageway resurfacing means a section of Banbury Road in Oxford will be closed for three weeks from August 8.

Work will take place between 8pm and 6am, with the section of the road between Oakthorpe Road and Belbroughton Road closed.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

Faringdon road closures: Park Road and Station Road in Faringdon will be closed for almost two weeks due to carriageway resurfacing.

Work will begin on August 9, and is anticipated to be completed by August 21.

Work will take place between 8pm and 6am.

The effect of the traffic order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Park Road and Station Road to its junction with the B4019.

The alternative route for traffic is via the B4019, A420 and vice versa.

Road improvements: A part of St Georges Road in Wallingford will be closed for two weeks from August 9.

Vehicles will be prohibited in the part between Millington Road and Barncroft.

Work is anticipated to be completed by August 27.

New water connections: Seven new water connections mean a section of North Street in Marcham will be closed for eight days.

Work is set to begin on August 9, with the section of North Street south of New Road to be closed.

The alternative route for traffic is via North Street - Howard Cornish Road - Packhorse Lane - North Street and vice versa.

Storm drains: The installation of storm drains and chamber works means a section of Orchard Way in Harwell is closed until September 1.

The section between numbers 31 to 42 has been closed since Monday.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via Orchard Way, Westfield Road and vice versa.

Drainage works: Drainage and carriageway works mean a section of Milton Hill will be closed for six weeks.

Work began on Monday, with vehicles prohibited from using the section of Milton Hill from Trenchard Avenue to Mitchell Way.
