AN MP has paid tribute to a teenage girl after she died shortly after being rescued from a lake.
Police were called to Ducklington Lake, near Witney, yesterday afternoon following concerns of someone struggling in the water.
Officers attended with both fire and ambulance services, and the girl was brought from the water and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The girl later died in hospital.
Robert Courts, who is MP for Witney said: “This was a tragic and heartbreaking event that will touch everyone in Witney, particularly this young girl’s family and friends who will all be suffering so much at this desperately sad time.
"We send them all our best wishes and sincere condolences - they are very much in all our thoughts and prayers.”
Three people died over the weekend after being pulled out from the water after what was thought to be the hottest day of the year so far.

This include a 19-year-old boy who died in Salford Quays, and a 50-year-old man in Yorkshire.
He added: "There will be a time to learn any lessons that need to be learnt from this tragedy once we understand the full circumstances.
"For the moment our thoughts are with the girl's family and friends who are grieving."
