A TEENAGE girl has died after being rescued from a lake.
Police were called to Ducklington Lake yesterday, in Witney, yesterday at 2.35pm following concerns of someone struggling in the water.
Officers attended with both fire and ambulance services, and the girl was brought from the water and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
The girl later died in hospital.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "The girl’s family have been informed, and are being closely supported by specially trained officers.
"The death is being treated as unexplained and non-suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
The force is currently not in a position where we can release the girl’s name.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service [SCAS] said: "We sent to the scene two ambulance crews, two ambulance officers and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
"They were assessing and treating a teenage girl who was in a life threatening condition.
"She was treated at the scene by all our crews and taken by land ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital accompanied by the ambulance crew and the team from the air ambulance."
Two other people also died this weekend after being pulled from the water on what was the hottest ay of the year.
A teenager died in Greater Manchester, along with a man in his 50s in North Yorkshire.
