The Court of Appeal will today decide whether an Oxford judge was right to impose a suspended sentence on a man who had sex with an underage girl.
Jordon Brook, 23, was handed a two year prison sentence suspended for two years at Oxford Crown Court last month.
He admitted carrying on the relationship with the teen girl over around a year – despite being issued with an official warning by the police.
Sentencing him in June, Judge Nigel Daly said he did not think sending Brook to prison would have an effect on his behaviour.

This morning, three justices at the Court of Appeal will consider whether the sentence imposed on the young man was correct.
The Mail understands Brook’s lawyers have put in an appeal against the sentence, while the judgement has also been appealed as unduly lenient by the Attorney General – the government’s senior lawyer.
The case is expected to go before the Court of Appeal in London at 10.30am this morning.
