Earlier today (Wednesday, July 7), the force served a Section 61 notice at the unauthorised encampment following the theft of catalytic converters from Gateway Retail Park.
Officers said they were met with resistance from people on the site, however, they managed to recover eight convertors.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "We recognise the concerns that such encampments can cause and look to balance our response with the impact upon the community along with the rights of the travelling community."
Police confirmed they will remain at the scene until the white vans have moved on.
