A CARTERTON man convicted of sex offences in the US has been ordered to sign on as a sex offender in the UK.

Matthew Bradley, 41, was convicted at the Trumbull county court in Ohio last year of disseminating matters harmful to juveniles, importuning, attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor and pandering sexual-oriented matter involving a minor.

Had he been dealt with in the UK, Bradley would have faced allegations of meeting a child following grooming, sexual communication with a child and possession of indecent images.

Thames Valley Police applied to Oxford Magistrates’ Court so Bradley, of Brome Way, Carterton, could be added to the sex offender register.

The justices approved the request.

  • An earlier version of this article stated Bradley was to remain on the sex offender register indefinitely. Thames Valley Police has since confirmed that he will be on the register for seven years. The Oxford Mail is happy to make this correction.
