Bicester Town Council has been forced to postpone its family fun day due to on-going coronavirus restrictions.
The council organised the event in-line with the Government road map, but following the announcement that restrictions have been extended due to rising cases of Covid-19, the event has been deemed unfeasible to run.

The Family Fun Day in association with Armed Forces Day was due to take place on Saturday, June 26, but will now be pushed into 2022.
Councillors are keen to reassure residents the rest of this year’s planned events, including the Superhero Activity Day and two live music events in August, a food festival in October and December’s Christmas Illuminated Trail, will still take place.
Council leader Richard Mould said: “Although we understand the reasons behind the extension to restrictions, we are hugely disappointed that our event cannot go ahead as planned.
“We know many local groups had signed up to take part and will also be very disappointed. However, the safely of residents must come first.
“Following last Monday’s announcement, we reviewed government guidelines and took advice from our colleagues at Cherwell District Council and the decision was made to cancel the fun day
“Whilst there was always a level of risk with planning an event soon after the lifting of restrictions, it was done with the aim of an energising return to Bicester’s events scene.

“At time of planning, the government’s stance was clear and determined that all restrictions would be lifted by 21st June.
“Unfortunately, the government’s decision to extend restrictions has unavoidably impacted the event such that it is now unfeasible.”
Financial constraints mean the event cannot be rescheduled for this year and will now take place in 2022.
