The cyclist who died in a crash near Henley earlier this month has been named.
Businessman Saliya Jayaratne, 45, of Phyllis Court Drive, Henley, died when he was struck by a van on the A4130 between Lower Assendon and Bix on Sunday, June 13.
Opening the inquest into Mr Jayaratne’s death on Tuesday afternoon, senior coroner for Oxfordshire Darren Salter said the Sri Lankan-born cyclist had been pronounced dead at the scene by an air ambulance doctor at 8.44pm.
The cause of death was found to be multiple injuries, Mr Salter said.
A full inquest will be held in December.
Earlier this month, Thames Valley Police said the driver of the van, a 57-year-old man from Wallingford, had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He was subsequently released under investigation.
