Bike Oxford returns next month and this year there are new start and finish options at both Oxford University RFC and Chipping Norton RFC.

Cyclists can enjoy the stunning Oxfordshire countryside on a choice of 25, 50 or 80 mile rides.

The Chippy start venue increases the opportunities for people from places such as Cheltenham, Gloucester and Evesham to join in.

As a result, the routes for 2021 are to the west of Oxford, taking in some of the Cotswolds.

The event is supported by B4, a group that builds bridges between businesses, with the partnership promoting active travel across Oxfordshire.

Event director Jacko Jackson said: “The idea behind Bike Oxford has always been to provide something for everyone. This year we are looking to promote initiatives around active travel, particularly as many people return to work after Covid restrictions are lifted.

“The short route in particular is designed with families, new cyclists and new cycle-commuters in mind.”

Routes are approved by Oxford City Council and the event is supported by the Cowley Road Condors Cycling Club.

This year Helen and Douglas House are the supported charity but all charities are invited to take part as a fundraiser.

The event on Sunday July 11 is limited to 1,000 riders with registration open at www.bikeoxford.co.uk. Entry fees for adults are £30 for the medium and long routes and £25 for the short route with children £15.
