Campaigners unfurled banners in Oxford to call on Amazon to sign up to a declaration which would ‘guarantee workers the freedom to talk with and form a union without fear’.
Trade union Unite is calling on Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to sign up to a declaration of neutrality after reports of the company carrying out ‘anti-union’ tactics.
Unite members did banner drops at various locations in Oxford such as the Ashmolean Museum and the Sheldonian Theatre on Wednesday, with a protest in Banbury back in May.

An Amazon spokesperson said: “We respect our employees’ right to join, form, or not to join a labour union or other lawful organisation of their own selection, without fear of reprisal, intimidation, or harassment.
"The fact is, we already offer excellent pay, excellent benefits and excellent opportunities for career growth, all while working in a safe, modern work environment. The unions know this.”
Unite executive officer, Sharon Graham said the union had written directly to Jeff Bezos about the issue.
