THE son of assassinated Pakistan politician Benazir Bhutto, who is studying at Oxford University, has been appointed co-leader of the Pakistan People's Party.

Bilawal, a first year student at Christ Church College, was due back in Oxford later this week but has flown to Pakistan from Dubai with his father, who also becomes co-leader, and two younger sisters.

The 19-year-old is already following in his family's legacy by studying at Oxford University, which was attended by both his mother and grandfather.

No one at Christ Church College was available for comment.
