A 43-year-old Oxfordshire man is in hospital following a multi-car motorway pile-up.
The man, from Thame, suffered serious injuries after an eight car collision on the northbound stretch of the M40 between junctions three and four at 7.45pm last Saturday.
He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital and was this morning described to be in a stable condition.
He was driving a black Ford Galaxy at the time of the collision.
The eight car pile-up also included Chevrolet Lacetti, grey Renault Clio, black BMW 320, black Ford Sierra, blue Honda CR-V, grey Peugeot and red Vauxhall Vectra Two other motorists were taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released.
The motorway was closed for two hours.
Police this morning appealed for information from witnesses.
