A HOLIDAY home exclusively for autistic people is set to open next week after more than £40,000 was raised.
On Tuesday, the two-bedroom mobile home near Witney will open after public donations helped get it set up.
The home, at Hardwick Parks in Standlake, is being opened by Autism at Kingwood, which opened a new service in Witney last year.
Available to autistic people supported by Autism at Kingwood, their families and staff, the first guest at the holiday home will be Hannah and her support worker.

Philippa Stannard, head of fundraising and communications at Autism at Kingwood, said: “We are so grateful to the many funders, who have made our holiday home dream a reality.
“The timing for this opening couldn’t be better, as many autistic people we support have experienced heightened anxiety and loneliness during the past year of lockdown.
“The rural and tranquil setting of Hardwick Parks is the perfect spot for us, as the autistic people we support live across the Thames Valley.
“As well as providing a holiday solution for autistic people who often miss out on a break, the home is available to the families of those we support, as well as our incredibly hard-working and caring support staff.”

In total, £40,985 was raised for the holiday home, with fundraising coming to a close in December.
Since then, a path and parking space have been installed, as well as decking all around the home.
Donations came in from individuals, companies and charitable foundations, and many of them will be in attendance to watch Hannah cut the ribbon to officially open the holiday home.
Families and autistic adults supported by the charity will also join in the celebrations.
