More than 100 homeless or lonely people came to a special Christmas Day lunch in Oxford arranged by the Salvation Army.
Capt Mark Wolstenholme, of the Salvation Army, said: "These were members of the community recommended to us by social services and other agencies, such as the Archway Foundation and Mind."
Forty volunteers helped prepare the meal and people started to arrive at 11am for the feast.
Capt Wolstenholme said: "It was so jolly. There was Christmas music playing, we all had a five-course Christmas lunch.
"There was one lady there who, for the last five years, has been alone on Christmas day. She came and she had a fantastic time.
"It matters a lot that we do this event on Christmas Day."
The event was held at the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre in Albion Place.
