I agree with Lionel Horner's letter, Too many lights (Oxford Mail, December 15).
I can understand the morning phenomena of traffic jams, as traffic converges on the city but not in the evening when traffic is dissipating into the suburbs and rural areas.
Modern cars are packed with technology.
Surely we could have smart traffic lights that at least can let people out of the city instead of being left on the simple timer mechanism?
