Boris Johnson is today expected to outline the next stage in his roadmap out of lockdown.
It comes as surge testing takes place in different parts of the country, after clusters of Covid variants of concern, such as the one originally found in India and the one originally found in South Africa, have been detected.

However, Oxford currently remains unaffected.
Here is the coronavirus infection rolling rate for each area of Oxford in the seven days to May 4, from the latest Government data available:
Oxford Central: 5 cases, up 2 – an increase of 67 per cent
East Central Oxford: 12 cases, up 9 – an increase of 300 per cent
Iffley Fields: 10 cases, up 8 – an increase of 400 per cent
Cowley South and Iffley: 4 cases, down 2 – a decrease of 33 per cent
Cowley North: 6 cases, up 1 – an increase of 20 per cent
Blackbird Leys: fewer than 3 cases, therefore little data
Littlemore and Rose Hill: fewer than 3 cases, therefore little data
Churchill: fewer than 3 cases, therefore little data
Headington: fewer than 3 cases, therefore little data
