POLICE today appealed for witnesses after a man was knocked unconscious outside a bar in Witney.
Between 12.40am and 1am on Christmas Day, a 28-year-old man was punched to the side of the face outside Izi in Market Square, Witney.
Police said he was knocked unconscious and received further head injuries as he hit the floor. He was treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital's accident and emergency department.
PC Andy Ball, from Witney police station, said: "Unfortunately, because this man was knocked out, he has little memory of what happened on Christmas Eve outside Izi.
"If you were at the bar or passing outside and saw this assault take please, I would be very keen to speak to you."
PC Ball can be contacted via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
