A SERIES of roads across Oxfordshire will be closed in the coming weeks for varying reasons.
Local authorities across the county have issued the public notices for planned roadworks.
These notices often cover roadworks, in addition to both licensing and planning applications.

Charity bike ride challenge: On June 6, a charity bike ride will see road closures in Watlington.
Oxfordshire County Council has made the order to facilitate the Maggie’s Everesting Cycle Challenge.
The notice said the council is satisfied that it is not appropriate for the event to be held off-road.
Possibly 100 or more cyclists are expected to participate over the 23-hour period.
The effect of the order, and to ensure safety of participants and supporters, is to temporarily prohibit through traffic from using Hill Road from The Ridgeway, south eastward towards Christmas Common to the junction of Hill Road and Christmas Common, a distance of approximately 1,700 metres.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and subject to the safety and progress of the race, for controlled access to property which is only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for the closure will be signed to the south via Howe Road/Howe Hill, Christmas Common and vice versa.

Fibre optic cables: The installation of fibre optic cables works means Enstone Road in Charlbury will see roadworks for just over a week.
Work will begin on May 10, and is set to be completed by May 18.
The effect of the order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the whole length/ section of Enstone Road.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via Browns Lane, Market Street, Thames Street, Nine Acres Lane, Enstone Road and vice versa.
Further fibre optics: Since Monday, another Charlbury road has been closed due to fibre optic cables installation works.
The effect of that order order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles using the length of Thames Street from the Baptist church to the junction with Nine Acres Lane.
Works are expected to take two weeks to be completed.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via Nine Acres Lane, Enstone Road, Market Street and vice versa.

Resurfacing: From May 9, resurfacing will see changes to Wood Farm Road in Oxford.
Large sections of the road will be resurfaced, with work anticipated to take two weeks to complete, between 7.30am and 4.30pm on weekdays.
The effect of the order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding, waiting or loading in parts of Wood Farm Road.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative routes will be signed locally.
