A MAN was left with fractured ribs and head and face injuries after a vicious attack on Cowley Road.
Between 10pm and 10.30pm on Thursday (April 22), it was reported that a man in his 40s had been assaulted by two men by the junctions of James Street and Jeune Street.
Emergency services raced to the scene and police cordoned off the area.
The man was then taken to the John Radcliffe Hosptial by ambulance with 'serious' injuries.
Two men were arrested for grevious bodily harm (GBH): a 34-year-old from Oxford and a 27-year-old from Kidlington.
They have both been released on bail until May 20 and 21.
Now investigators are hoping witnesses will help piece together what happened that night.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Jones, of Oxford CID said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident during which the victim sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment.
“Officers have made two arrests in connection with this incident, but we still require information to aid our investigation.
