A SERIES of roads across Oxfordshire will be closed in the coming weeks for varying reasons.
Local authorities across the county have issued the public notices for planned roadworks.
These notices often cover roadworks, in addition to both licensing and planning applications.

Drainage works: As of Thursday (April 22), drainage pipe works mean a part of Park Road in North Leigh will be closed for approximately two weeks.
The section of the road between the A4095 and the Bluebell Gardens housing estate will be closed until the works are complete, anticipated to be by May 7.
The alternative route for traffic is via Park Road, Common Road, the A4095 and vice versa.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
Fibre optic cables: The Green in Bladon is set to be closed for approximately two weeks.
This is due to fibre optic cable installation works, starting on May 6.
The effect of the order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles using the whole of The Green.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via Church Street, Lamb Lane, the A4095, Park Street and vice versa.

Excavation works: Two roads will be closed near Abingdon from next week, with works set to take five weeks.
From April 29, Abingdon Road and Tollgate Road, both in Culham, will be closed while excavation works for fibre optic cables takes place.

Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
Construction in Abingdon: Another road in the Abingdon area has already closed due to roadworks.
As of Tuesday, a section of Wootton Road was closed for construction works.
The part of the road impacted is the roundabout with Dunmore Road and Copenhagen Drive.
Work is anticipated to take three weeks to be completed.

Footpath closure: The North Field Lane footpath in Long Wittenham will be closed for approximately six months from May 1.
This order was introduced due to work which is to facilitate a wetland creation project (River of Life II) in the local area.
The effect of the order is to temporarily close the footpath, south east of Clifton Hampden.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath (number 287/2/10).
Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
A nearby local diversion route is signed.
