A 22-year-old man was killed in a traffic collision near Deddington today.
The crash happened on the A4260 at 9.30am and involved a red Ford Fiesta, travelling towards Deddington, and a 7.5-tonne box van, travelling towards Banbury.
Police said the car driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was uninjured.
The A4260 was closed between Deddington crossroads and Milton Highways Department whilst accident investigators complete a detailed examination of the area. It reopened at about 2.30pm.
Police are appealing for witnesses and would particularly like to speak with a woman who administered first aid, but left without passing on her details.
They also urge the driver of a green Skoda, who was driving in front of the Fiesta, to get in touch as soon as possible.
Anyone with information is urged to contact, PC Rob Bull, of Bicester Roads Policing Unit, via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
