A father has won safety improvements for pedestrians after his daughter was nearly hit by a car at a busy junction.
Lee Smyth, of Starnham Road, Ducklington, near Witney, complained to Oxfordshire County Council after his daughter narrowly escaped an accident while crossing the Ducklington Lane and Station Lane junction.
Engineers promised a review of the two-lane filter system at the traffic lights and have now modified it.
Council traffic engineer Mike Herbert said: "This should make traffic less intimidating to pedestrians.
"When the left hand lane of traffic begins to move, it will give pedestrians who have already started to cross the road more time to reach the central refuge."
Mr Smyth said: "Well done, now the crossing will be safer for everyone."
