CHILDREN can get their hair cut in style when an Oxfordshire barber shop reopens this month.
The Old Barber Shop in Bicester now has an extension at the back to create a space dedicated to children's haircuts.
Youngsters under five-years-old can sit in colourful 'flying' car seats while they get their shape-up.
Laura Duggan, 25, started the family-run business three years ago and is looking forward to giving children a trim in the new set up.
She said: “I am so excited to welcome children in to the new kids section when we reopen on April 12. I can’t wait to see their faces light up as they decide which car to choose from."
The additional space means the shop now has 14 seats in total.
Ms Duggan says being closed during the pandemic was challenging, but is grateful for the time it allowed her to build the extension.
She said: "The past year has been tough having to close for such a long time. I opened the barber shop when I was 22 and little did I know we would be facing a global pandemic. However, if the barber shop never closed we wouldn’t have had the time to create the kids barber shop.
"With social distancing, my dad, mum, sister and myself had the time to plan, build and create the kids section to expand our family-run business to accommodate everyone.
"That’s our kind of our silver lining if you like."
The shop can now accommodate everyone such as grooms and groomsmen wedding packages, luxury services like traditional hot towel shaves, a wheelchair-friendly cutting station and disabled access. Ms Duggan is also offering a ‘first hair cut’ package for children.
