ENFORCEMENT officers manning Oxford's car parks have been told to issue thousands more fines.
Oxford City Council believes drivers are getting away with flouting regulations and have told their enforcers to come down hard on those who stay beyond the time limit.
The city believes tougher enforcement at its car parks, including Westgate, Worcester Street and Oxpens, could bring in £50,000 more a year.
Council parking manager Graham Smith: "We have told the enforcers in no uncertain terms there is an additional sum in the budget which we have to make up."
