POLICE appealed for information today after two men attempted to burgle a house in Didcot.
At about 9pm yesterday, the occupants of an address in Loyd Road heard a knock at the door and saw two men outside.
The occupants spoke to them via the bedroom window and the two men asked if "Lee was there" and then whether they were in Cockcroft Road. The men then walked away.
They were both white, aged between 25 and 30, both about 5ft 8in tall and of medium build with no accent. They were wearing dark coloured woolly hats and dark coloured blouson jackets.
At about 9.30pm, an attempted burglary took place on Edwin Road, which is adjacent to Loyd Road.
Police said the offenders smashed a window in the front door using a small metal object then went to the rear of the property and smashed a rear window. They did not get inside. A witness saw two figures running from the rear of the property.
PC Peter Semczyszyn, of Didcot Police, said "If anyone else in the area spoke to or saw these men between 9pm and 10pm, please let me know."
PC Semczyszyn can be contacted via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
