CHILDREN have been using the themes of Christmas to send a seasonal fire safety message.
The poster competition being run by Oxfordshire County Council's Fire and Rescue Service aims to encourage families to be more aware of fire hazards in the home.
Santa's fire safety Christmas list resulted in more than 300 entries from primary schools across the county, and four out of the six winners' prizes were awarded to pupils at Stanton Harcourt village school.
The awards were presented by Judy Heathcoat, county cabinet member for community safety, at Rewley Road fire station.
The winners were Kiran Ram, six, and Max Tapp-Mugglestone, ten, from Stanton Harcourt. They won a family day out at the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
The runners-up, who won an animal adoption programme from the Park, were Bronwyn Peatman, ten, Edith Moorhouse, Carterton, Liam Rogan, eight, St Thomas More, Kidlington, Lucia Marty, eight, and Rownan Malin, six, both Stanton Harcourt.
