POLICE warned drivers heading towards London tonight that the M40 has been closed southbound because of a crash near High Wycombe.
The collision, which involved two cars, occurred at about 3.50pm between junctions 4 and 3 of the southbound carriageway.
Two people have been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with serious injuries. Another person has been taken to Wexham Park hospital.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police, speaking at 6pm, said: "There is a complete closure of the southbound carriageway at junction 4. This is likely to remain in place for the next couple of hours while collision investigators attend the scene."
