A MAN has been arrested after attempting to rape a woman in Oxford.
*UPDATE: A man has been charged in connection with this incident*
At a time between 3pm and 4.30pm on Monday (March 15), a woman, who is in her 50s, was sexually assaulted inside a property in Alice Smith Square, Littlemore.
She did not require hospital treatment and is being supported by specialist officers.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this investigation and remains in police custody.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jamie Macaro, based at St Aldates police station, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and she is being supported by specialist officers at this time.
“I am appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to please come forward.
“In particular, from our investigation so far, I am appealing for a female member of the public who may have seen a distressed woman in the area between 3pm and 4.30pm to please get in touch as we believe you may have important information.
