As the skier who now holds the world record for skiing round Christ Church Meadow in Oxford, I was disappointed that you omitted the main point of my conversation with your reporter (Oxford Mail, December 13).
This was that Oxford has consistently failed to promote itself to the world as a winter sports resort.
As someone who has done more skiing of Oxford's slopes and pastures than most, I can recommend South Park piste in particular.
This slope needs only the slightest dusting of snow to turn it into as near to a skier's paradise as you are likely to get within the city boundaries.
There is also a fine selection of cafes and bars at the bottom in St Clement's for après ski and an excellent ski lift service back to the top in the form of the number 15 bus.
It is economical, too, if you buy a multi-ride ticket.
Not only should Oxford be trying to attract ski nuts away from travelling to Austria, France and the States, but also be promoting the joys of skiing in Oxford in those countries.
My other grouse with your report was your failure to mention why I took as long as 38 minutes to complete one lap - my skis kept coming off.
Next year, I plan to use superglue and break the 30-minute barrier.
