This list will be updated regularly to reflect up to date school closure information.

ELEVEN schools in Oxfordshire have reported some sort of closure due to cases of Covid-19.

Schools reopened on March 8, the first step in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s roadmap out of lockdown.

Throughout 2021, students, with the exception of the children of key workers and vulnerable pupils, have learnt remotely.

Below is a list of the schools that have reported closures to Oxfordshire County Council:

  • Brightwell-cum-Sotwell CE Primary School: Year 3 and 4 combined class closed, returning on Monday
  • Burford Primary School: Year 1 and 2 (Windrush Class) closed. Pupils will return on Monday
  • Church Cowley St James CE Primary School: The closure started today, with the school reopening on March 29. This only affects Year 1, Queens class. The school is open for all other classes.
  • Harwell Primary School: Year 4 is closed with pupils returning on March 24
  • Mabel Prichard School (Oxford): Two classes closed due to positive Covid-19 cases. Reopening on Friday for green class and March 25 for blue class
  • Northbourne CE Primary School (Didcot): Puffin and Nightingale classes are closed. Pupils will return on Tuesday
  • Pegasus Primary School (Oxford): The bubble that has closed is a Year 3 class, there will be 30 children and two adults isolating, and they are due back in school on Monday
  • Queen Emma’s Primary School (Witney): Remote learning until the return date for all students on Monday
  • Sibford Gower Endowed Primary School: Year 1 and 2 class bubble (Beech class) is currently closed. Awaiting test results, and if positive, this bubble is scheduled to reopen for children on the morning of March 26
  • St John Fisher Catholic Primary School (Oxford): Year 3 bubble has closed and will return on Friday
  • St John the Evangelist CE Primary School (Carterton): Year 4 Holly class closed due to a positive Covid result. Pupils can return on Monday
